Equatorial Guinea is Africa’s Center of Energy in 2019

At the end of August 2018, the Ministry of Mines and Hydrocarbons, led by H.E. Minister Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima, launched the Year of Energy initiative.

The goal is to position Equatorial Guinea as the energy capital of the African continent throughout 2019, in order to showcase the opportunities in Equatorial Guinea’s and the continent’s energy industry, and promote local companies and the achievements of Equatorial Guinea, and as well support the agenda of the rest of the oil and gas producing countries on the African continent.

With this goal in mind, several conferences and events are taking place throughout the year in Equatorial Guinea. The government of Equatorial Guinea has designated Africa Oil & Power, the premier energy investment and policy platform on the continent, as the official organizer of the event programs for the Year of Energy, together with a special organizing committee designated by the Ministry of Mines and Hydrocarbons.
