1 Getting a Visa

If you have an Equatorial Guinea Embassy in your country, you need to apply for a visa via your embassy. Click here to check the list of countries with an Equatorial Guinea embassy.

United States ordinary passport holders do not require a visa for Equatorial Guinea. Holders of diplomatic, official or service passports issued to nationals of Brazil, China, Cuba and Morocco do not require a visa.

Applying for a Visa via your Equatorial Guinea Embassy:

Step 1: Register for APPO CAPE VII Congress and Exhibition here.

Step 2: Send a copy of your passport to Africa Oil & Power (AOP) team at register@africaoilandpower.com to receive your Visa Invitation Letter.

Step 3: Contact your local Equatorial Guinea Embassy to book an appointment for visa application and clarify which further documents will be needed. Please note that other documents may be required, and these vary depending on your country. A full list of possible documents needed is here. These must be provided by the applicant.

  • Visa Invitation Letter (provided by the organizer)
  • Letter from your company stating trip expenses are covered
  • Flight Reservation
  • 2 passport size photos
  • Original passport
  • Copy of yellow fever vaccination card
  • Police Clearance or Medical Report
  • Filled Visa Application Form
  • Paid visa fee

Applications can take up to 10 days. Therefore, please apply within a reasonable time frame.

Step 4: Once you receive your Visa Invitation Letter from AOP team and prepare other documents needed, visit the embassy to submit your application.

If you do not have an Equatorial Guinea Embassy in your country:

If you don’t have an Equatorial Guinea Embassy in your country, then you are eligible to get Visa on Arrival issued at Malabo International Airport.

Step 1: Register for APPO CAPE VII Congress and Exhibition here.

Step 2: Send a copy of your passport, criminal record/police clearance report, flight itinerary and hotel booking to AOP team at register@africaoilandpower.com. The AOP visa team will then get your Visa on Arrival Approval Letter from Equatorial Guinea’s National Security agency.

Step 3: When you receive your Visa on Arrival Approval Letter from AOP team, print it out and you can use this when boarding your flight to Malabo.

Please note:

Any changes in flight itinerary or hotel bookings must be provided to AOP team otherwise, Visa on Arrival Approval Letter will be cancelled and the airline will not allow you to board the plane.

The AOP team will welcome all delegates arriving in Malabo and organize transport to their hotels. After the conference on departure, AOP team will also transfer all delegates to airport.

2 Getting there:

APPO CAPE VII has two mobility partners, Ethiopian Airlines and Lufthansa Group. Enjoy discounts on these airlines for your trip to Malabo.

Lufthansa Group provides a range of discounts – from 10% to 3% depending on the class and reservation – for all Lufthansa Group flights to Malabo between March 25 and April 12.

3 Accommodation:
