Malabo – On Thursday, January 24, a meeting was held between the National Event Organization Committee and the Organizing Committee of the ‘Year of Energy’ of the Ministry of Mines and Hydrocarbons as an overview of Equatorial Guinea’s 2019 ‘Year of Energy’ initiative.
All of the members of the National Committee were in attendance at the meeting, as well as those of the Organizing Committee, which is chaired by the Ministers of Mines and Hydrocarbons and Foreign Affairs.
During the council, Minister Mbaga Obiang Lima presented the program of events to be held in Malabo during the ‘Year of Energy’ to the National Committee, as well as presented the need for collaboration with several Ministries of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to maximize the efficacy of the events (Ministry of Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Civil Aviation, and Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Artisanal Promotion).
The Foreign Minister supported this initiative of collaboration and requested improvements in the Security sector for when the events are held.
Concluding the meeting, the Coordinating Chair of the Event Organization Committee guided attendees through the program and outlined the efforts needed for each respective event.
Despite the experience of the coordinators of the National Committee in organizing events in the past, the ‘Year of Energy’ series of events will be the first of its kind to be held in Equatorial Guinea to date.
